Joan Ross Sorkin is a musical theater writer, librettist and playwright. Her work has been performed nationally, and much of her work has been developed at The York Theatre Company and in the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop.
Her most recent musicals include Bordello, Black Swan Blues, Monet, and Dandelion, and her most recent operas include The Reef, Jubilee, and Roman Fever.
She is the recipient of the 2025 York Theatre Founders’ Award.
